This was my 3rd time in Grand Cayman. Always enjoy coming here, it's definitely one of my favorites. Usually my family and I go to Sea Grape Beach but we wanted to try a different beach so we ended up going to Royal Palms. It was nice but way too many people. It was $10 for each chair or umbrella you wanted to rent. A bit expensive. Also, the water wasn't as clear as it always had been and there were no reefs around for snorkeling. Next time, we'll go back to Sea Grape. Grand Cayman also had a lot of good, high end shops worth checking out since everything is Duty Free. My Mother bought diamond earrings from Diamonds international and the staff was good. However, one staff member stepped on my Mother's foot and barely apologized. In a few minutes her foot was swollen and red. Kind of rude. 


Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

This was my first time in Roatan and I didn't know what to expect. I've always heard bad things about Honduras so we were a little unsure. I had researched beaches to go to before the cruise and we ended up taking a taxi to West Bay. It cost $80 round trip and the taxi driver - who was VERY helpful and filled with info, stayed with us the whole time. The driver told us Roatan has low crime rates compared to the mainland which was reassuring. The beach was absolutely beautiful. Crystal clear water and reefs all over the place. The sand was white and smooth. People came around trying to sell you stuff but were not pushy in anyway so it was alright. The island is very tropical and lush and also very poor. It's sad to see some of the homes people live in. Roatan is probably in my top 5 caribbean islands. 


Roatan

Belize was another port I had never been to and was also unsure about. You have to be tendered which takes about 20-25 minutes. There are no beaches on the mainland around where you dock from the tenderer (hard to believe). We didn't know that so I recommend you book a tour through the cruise ship. We took a tour with ecological tours to a private island.. Gibbs Cay? BEAUTIFUL. The island wasn't even a half mile long or wide. Snorkeling everywhere! You could walk 20 feet out and the crystal clear water be up to your hip. It took about 30-40 minutes to get here. Had we booked the tour through the cruise I am almost positive they would've took you directly to the island instead of back tracking. By far, my number one pick out of all the places I've been to. Getting ready to leave the island, a local brought live lobsters and showed us them and taught us a few things. Very cool. When you get off the tender you have the little shopping area. It was clean and there were security guards everywhere. We didn't wander outside the gates. This is a place you MUST visit! 


Belize City

3rd time in Cozumel and at first I wasn't too excited because the past two experiences weren't all that great. Before we had always gone to Mr. Sanchos and Paradise Beach. The water was cold, filled with seaweed and not clear. This time we went to Playa Mia. Took a taxi there ($15 for 4 people and $15 on way back). It costs $14 to get in but you get unlimited beach chairs, pool, use of the aqua toy things. Very worth it. The beach was beautiful. The sand was very shelly. The water was crystal clear. There were rocks and reefs all over the place so it's more of a snorkeling place. There was also more wave action than any other place. My Dad, brother and I went jet skiing at a very, very reasonable price. It was a lot of fun! The Mexican people are always so friendly and helpful. The port was still decorated for Christmas. It was nice to see that. There are also a lot of shops and restaurants. 


Cozumel

There has to be a reason as to why they put the dining rooms on the back of the ship but I couldn't tell ya.When the ship would rock back and forth the room would creek.
