We booked the Eclipse at the last minute. I had been on Celebrity once before, but my husband had never been on Celebrity until now. We boarded in Miami for an Eastern Caribbean 7 day cruise. WOW, what a ship. The ship itself was beautiful. There was something for everyone. We had a fantail cabin, which was beautiful and maintained to perfection. Our cabin steward was friendly, helpful, and did an excellent job all week. We are not impressed that easily, but we both were very impressed with this ship. On the top deck, there is a grassy area for lawn bowling, bocce, and croquet. There is also an area where the Corning Museum has shows explaining how vases are made, step by step. The fitness center is huge!! There is every type of equipment that you could want. Everything was spotless, very well maintained. The food was excellent. Neither of us had an overcooked, or tasteless meal. We both enjoyed every meal on board. Their menu is extensive. If you like Escargot, it is available every night. The waiters were great. We had my time dining. Most nights we had different serving staff. Each and every one was friendly, helpful, and provided great service. They could not have done more for us. We are not fans of the Caribbean, so it was important to have a great ship with great service, and great food. The selection of shops was very impressive. The entertainment was the best ever. There were three production shows. The singers and dancers were excellent. The third production show was a Cirque type show. Standing ovations everywhere. It surprise us that when there was no production show, the dancers were appearing somewhere else on the ship. The party band was superior to any we have seen. We had such a great time on this ship, that midway during the cruise, we went to the future cruise office and asked if space was available for the following week. Luckily for us, there were still a few cabins available. We booked a balcony cabin. We were upgraded to Aqua class (11th floor). Aqua class has many wonderful amenities, such as Egyptian sheets and towels (large fluffy towels). Daily a delicious container of ice tea was delivered, and the flavor changed daily. Our balcony had very comfortable chairs along with ottomans. This was a real treat. Along with Aqua class, there is a special upscale dining room called Blu that you can eat in for breakfast and dinner daily. It is limited to Aqua class passengers. If they have room, suite passengers can dine there. This dining room was great. They serve a little healthier type meals along with anything else you might want for the main dining room. Anything you requested, they brought it quickly. The chef even came out one night to meet all the diners in Blu. Again, as with the first week, there food was excellent. The Maitre d's in Blu were superior. This week the ship did the Western Caribbean. We again, are not fond of the Caribbean, but this ship and all its staff, made this the best vacation EVER.

We would highly recommend this to anyone who wants an elegant wonderful cruise. I almost forgot, the Aqua cabins has a shower panel in the bathroom. We loved this and are thinking of buying one for our home. The ships pools are beautiful with secluded areas too. There are water features that display on and off. The library was 2 stories. It was so elegant and inviting.

Cabin Review

The cabins are fine. We found the closets to be adequet (I pack a lot). Both balconies were great, especially the one in Aqua class. The only thing I would like to mention, and it wasn't a problem for us, but could be for some people, is that there are only 2 elevator banks areas. There are 8 elevators a little back from middle, and 4 elevators in the front. If your cabin is in the fantail area, this is quite a walk. The fantail balcony view is wonderful. The library is a work for art. It is very inviting and well stocked. The showers in the Aqua rooms are by far the best ever. Love, love this ship. Can't wait for the two new ones arriving in the next two years.
