Christmas Dream Getaway

Sail Date: December 2010
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

We left on Dec 18th for a special five day cruise on the Dream. This was our first cruise together so we were real excited to this getaway.

I am unable to comment on the embarkation process due to the fact that we had an unforeseen airport delay before arriving to Orlando. We had purchased the pre and post cruise transfers, which I would highly recommend. We were lucky enough that a Carnival transporter were there looking for platinum guests so arrived to Port Canaveral with only minutes left.

Since we left without our luggage, our next stop was at Guest Services. I can't express enough gratitude for the service they provided us. They eased us and enjoyed the start of our cruise. Our luggage was sent the next day to Bahamas and in our cabin by 5:00 before dinner.

The ship was absolutely beautiful and very clean. Staff at any hour was cleaning handrails, elevator buttons, bathrooms, and tons of public areas. We were very impressed with our interior cabin. More It was very spacious and had plenty of clothing storage areas.

We had late seating in Crimson. The service was good and professional. The food from the dining was very good and had a variety of choices. However, one evening we dine at The Chef's Art Steakhouse. We felt it was worth the money and had a very nice time.

The gathering at breakfast was pretty much the same everyday but was good for buffet style food. We did try omelette bar one morning. Good but the line was longer then buffet. No complaints about the food, but I am not a food snob or a picky eater, though.

The entertainment was decent. The Burgundy Lounge had good comedy shows we actually stayed for two adult only shows. The piano bar was fun but since we are non smokers we couldn't stay too long but there is open area to sit.

Although we did not take the kids this time. I think they would enjoy the activities geared to their ages 9 and 12. We will definitively take them next time.

Disembarkation was very simple and moved quickly. Our luggage was easy to find and post transfers were very convenient. Excited to plan our next vacation. Less
