Embarkation was a breeze at the Miami port. The rooms weren't ready, so we roamed around and had lunch.
Room 9632-Small, but adequate. Carpet had cigarette burns. Other than that, it was perfecxt. Great bathroom and shower. The shower was big enough for my large husband. The room attendants, Anthony Haws and Marichris Bautista were excellent. We asked them to empty our mini-bar, and it was done immediately. The coffee in the room and the bathrobes were a welcome touch.
You certainly couldn't go hungry on the Pearl. Food everywhere, at every time. The Garden Cafe buffet was very good, but there were no straws. If you wanted a straw to drink your beverage, you had to go out to the pool bar to get it. Very inconvenient. Also, the fresh squeezed juice bar was only open for breakfast. We would have enjoyed it in the afternoon also. There were a variety of places to eat. I like the fact that there were two main dining rooms, one in which you can wear shorts, the other was less casual. Both good options. That's what I like about NCL--plenty of options. We did eat in Le Bistro and Cagney's, two specialty restaurants, well worth the money. While dining at Cagney's, a family with a two year old came in. This poor child screamed throughout the meal. We were looking forward to a nice, quiet romantic dinner. Perhaps they should change their policy, and not allow children under a certain age. One of the restaurants was open 24 hours, so you could always find something to eat. I was disappointed in the tapas. On my last NCL cruise, there was a free tapas restaurant. Now, it has been incorporated into a Mexican restaurant, which charges a fee. No more free tapas. Very disappointing.
Cabin 9632--Cigarette burns on carpet. Loved having the coffee and robes in the room. the room was small, but quite adequate. Lots of space to put things. Loved the bathroom. Shower was nice and big. Great location. Very quiet.
