We just came back from 7 days Christmas cruise on Epic. We booked Deluxe Spa stateroom on 14th floor, right across from fitness and spa. Our spa entry was included in room price. Spa is great, worth the money.
Overall we enjoyed our cruise despite so so weather. If you are going for ports of call - not worth it.
We paid extra for deluxe spa stateroom, not worth it. Not much different from regular balcony rooms. Get balcony stateroom and pay for entry to the spa as you go.Spa staff rather unpleasant, but I can understand, they were extremely busy during first 2 days.
Exercise clasess are expensive. Spinning x 3 $45. Boot camp x 4, 30 min class, $120. Not worth it. Rip off! Do your own workout.
Our stateroom was right under top deck and every morning we could hear chairs being shuffled above our room. Noisy, could not sleep.Cabin is very narrow and long. We kept bumping into each other continuously. We had no problem with washroom and shower in the bathtab.
If you booking Circus show with dinner , make sure you book it on PORT day. We booked on sea day and was cancelled because of bad weather and rough sea. We were not offered alternate date. Had to line up in standby line and did not get in. Disappointing, since it was one of the reasons we booked that cruise ship.
You must see Legends in concert show, but you can certainly skip Second city. Make sure you book your shows on line.
Food was great, we loved La Cucina. Great food , great service and ambiance. Other restaurants are good, but expensive. By the time you pay for service charge, bottle of wine , taxes , you end up with $75 - $100 bill. Book your restaurants on line. We enjoyed Tappanyaki, but if you have seem it before it is not worth it. Ice bar not worth it, unless you just want to take some pictures.
Moderno was probably least favorite, meat was cold , served with french fries and salad bar not impresive, Cagneys has great food, but no atmosphere. We skipped La Bistro. Bills started to pile up!!
Every day there was 2 for 1 Martinis in some bar on the ship, use it. Drinks are expensive otherwise.
On the sea days , impossible to find chairs, unless you reserve way in advance. And people do just that with towels, books etc.
About smoking - yes, it bothered us every time we walked thru the Casino or close by. People seem to smoke anything - cigarettes, cigarrillos, pipe anywhere they wanted. We set up our highly sought chairs and few minutes later you would have somebody with pipe smoking next to you.No rules or regulations.
They charge for anything and everything possible. We probably will not be going on Norwegian cruises again.
