After sailing on the Carnival Fantasy we could not wait for this cruise on a bigger beautiful ship. The treatment and fun we had on the Fantasy was exceptional so maybe our expectations were too high for the Dream. After blowing over $7,000.00 on two premium "Spa Rooms" we barely saw our steward, the spa sucked as we met long lines and crowded conditions every time we went and the Valasso therapy pool was continually closed due to rough conditions. Our room was on the front top of the ship and our dining room was in the lower rear even though there was a closer dining room. The fun experiences at dinner, singing, dancing etc... that we have come to expect from Carnival only happened on 3 or 4 of the 8 nights and the staff was less then enthused. The supervisors in the white outfits were not friendly at all and very condescending to their help. Seemed like we had to wait in exceptionally long lines for everything, this was the Christmas cruise and I had heard that the following cruise even had more passengers booked (feel sorry for those people). The shows were sub par and the cruise Director Butch was annoying, he and his partner definitely did not identify with me or most of the other passengers we spoke with. The food was o.k. but not as good as we had come to expect from Carnival. After our first cruise with Carnival we never thought we would use another Cruise Line but after this one we are going somewhere else.
