Review of the Norwegian EPIC.
Universally good – well trained and attentive staff
Generally good entertainment
Beds are very comfortable, although a bit short. Tall people be alerted.
Good stabilizers, even in rough seas.
Universally bad- cabin
Other things that may or may not concern you:
Food is average in free dining areas. Don’t expect to find shrimp cocktail, escargot, veal, sea bass. If that doesn’t matter, no problem. Chefs do not know how to cook fish in main dining rooms. Other than salmon, it is always dry. Portions are small, although you can always ask for more and you’ll be accommodated. The push is to go to paid dining rooms
Common areas have no quiet areas. No library to sit and read no game room.
There is no casino. Instead, common areas are filled with slot machines and gaming tables. This is everywhere including the outdoor pool area. No way to shield children from the gambling. It is everywhere.
Public rooms including main dining rooms and lounges have the most uncomfortable chairs. One cannot sit long before you have to get up and move around.
Most elevators do not ring or ring so softly, you have to be constantly scanning them or miss it.
Every lecture is designed to sell you something.
We rated the ship among the worst. The fact it was a mega-ship did not bother us.
