A Wonderful Holiday On Sun Princess
Embarkation: Perth (Fremantle)
We had a most enjoyable cruise on the Sun Princess in July and August 2010. It was a 17 day return cruise to Sth East Asia from Fremantle.
The ports that we visited were Geraldton, Phuket, Lankowi, Penang, Port Kelang and Singapore.
Our welcome on board in Fremantle was very friendly and without any fuss and it wasn't long before our luggage was delivered to our room. Our cabin Steward made us welcome with a complimentary glass of champagne and all at once we felt that we were on holidays.
Our balcony suite/cabin (B409) was very comfortable and well appointed even to the point of having a Spa.
Each morning we had breakfast in our suite which was always delivered on time and "just what we wanted". It really was a relaxing way for us to start the day.
We enjoyed the activities that were provided and always found the morning Quiz was well attended and well run by the Entertainment staff. Frenchie was an absolute delight. I also enjoyed More the guest lecturers.
When we arrived in Geraldton we had to go in by tender. Of all our cruises we found this cruise the most orderly run to get people into town. We must commend the staff for the efficient way they controlled the embarking and disembarking of passengers onto the tenders.
All the onshore tours were very comprehensive albeit a trifle expensive and the tour lecturer was always on the ball with her lectures about the on coming ports. It was very interesting to get her views of each port beforehand.
At various ports we used the local taxi service and found no problems at all with the taxi drivers taking us where ever we wanted to go. Price wise they were vary reasonable.
Singapore was a good port because we were able to berth at the main terminal which made it very easy to get into the city and do what ever we wanted to do. Either by taxi or public transport which was cheap and efficient.
Shopping onboard. There was always something special to shop for onboard. Very much in line with the format used on other cruises we had been on.
The meals we had, mainly in the dining room, were the best meals we have ever enjoyed whilst cruising. The staff were very jolly and helpful. We could not fault them at all.
Some times we would dine out for lunch at the Pizza Parlor which was first class.
Another night we paid the extra to dine out in the Steak house under the stars. Once again the staff were very attentive and made our night even more special.
The ship was an easy ship to move around on. There always seemed to be plenty of space even though there was 1900 passengers on board.
The nightly show entertainment was first class and we enjoyed going to the theatre to watch the various guest artists and cabaret shows. The guest were mainly Australian but top quality.
All in all we found the waiters and cabin staff to be very friendly, efficient and helpful. It was a credit to them as to how much they made our holiday on board more enjoyable.
We are looking forward to traveling again on the Sun Princess. Less

Cabin review: ABB409
Our cabin B409 was clean and spacious. Plenty of room for the two of us. Storage space was adequate. Spa sensational. Close and handy to laundry and stairs and lifts. Would be happy to be in a similar position again.
