Ship Facts: Freedom of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Freedom of the Seas Deck Plans
2 Centre Holiday - Orlando & Western Carribean Cruise
Overall the ship is lovely, has everything on there you'd expect from such a well known company, surfing, rock climbing wall, ice skating rink, theatre, gym, adult only pool area, bars, running track etc and all of a very high standard....but there's something missing - you just feel like a number on this ship and not an individual - there's no personal touch to make your stay a special experience.

We had a room with a balcony which was absolutely lovely. We had to approach the customer relation staff as the room did smell like stale urine but they soon came and sorted this out and no further problems with the smell in the room - oh and such a comfy bed - excellent nights sleep.

The promenade area is lovely, shops, bars, ice cream parlour, pizza restaurant, parades etc all very nice.

Excellent service from the maids in the room, couldn't ask for anything more.

The service at the pool bar is very poor, not enough staff. There were no more than 4 bar men working to serve a ship with customers of over 3000 and they were always happier to serve the women before the men (I noticed this myself and I'm a woman) just seemed a little unfair.

Biggest rip off is the gratuity charges - This is automatically added to your charge card - spoke to customer relations and they said this is a company policy and we were unable to remove it - the only gratuity that was separate is for your waiter and your room maid which is fine as they are the people you would want to tip for such an excellent service - BUT why should we be expected to tip the bar men, coffee shop servers, shop assistants just for doing their job - e.g. in the coffee shop they add a gratuity for them just pouring you a coffee - rip off...

We were also charged for 4 bottles of water from the mini bar in the room which we didn't use - this was sorted out following a telephone call to customer relations but we would have been charged if we hadn't been keeping an eye on our bill.

Food wasn't anything special but there was quite a lot of choice and drinks were priced fairly until they added the gratuity which resulted in the drinks being way over priced.

The day we disembarked was excellent - very organised, called you by colour and number, this run very smoothly.

Overall I'd say I had a better cruise experience with Princess Cruises compared with Royal Caribbean in relation to personalisation and cost.
