Carnival Liberty was a very nice and well kept. The crew was always fixing and maintaining things, from the elevators to the paint on the outside of the ship to the carpet. There was a lot of smoky areas on the ship, we are no smokers and really dislike smoke and we missed out on certain areas of the boat, the casino, the nightclub, the jazz bar and even by the pool area. The smoke was excessive. I even saw crew members at the bar by the pool smoking. The hallway to our cabin was always full of smoke, too.

We enjoyed the ship, but would have enjoyed it more if we left the little ones behind. They had plenty to do at night but during the day all they planned was shopping, playing bingo, and eating. We are not big eaters or money spenders, so we opt to sleep by the pool and look out at sea.

The kids program was great for the 3 year old and up. I thought I would get a break for my 2 year old and I only got 3 hours max of time to do my own thing. We had to pick him up for lunch and dinner, every night our 2 hour dinner was a nightmare with a 2 yr old. They would only keep the kids that were potty trained and none picky eaters for lunch and dinner. My luck my kid was neither the two. As for my 11 yr old. he had a blast, I think I only saw him on port days and when it was time for bed and I made him eat dinner with us at least twice.

Cabin Review

Cabin 5A

Our Cabin was a porthole view in the front of the ship, we wanted some kind of light entering the room and were trying to be a little conservative in our spending. Big mistake, we had high winds on 3 of our sea days and the room would rock, sway and jump and move in every direction. We got motion sickness the first day and I still feel the aftermath at home, rocking and swaying. The room was very comfortable and spacious, but every time we got to a port or left the port we got to experience a loud, wake you up form your sleep rumbling of the steering of the boat, it was horrible, after we would leave the port or arrive at the port, everything was fine. also, our room was right below the theater and would here every practice rehearsal at any hour of the day, yes 3am and at nap time for my little one at 1pm. I recommend that you check where your cabin is before you book it.
