Nice Trip- great ports and people

Review for the Southern Caribbean Cruise on Caribbean Princess

I don't know if I am the best person to review the cruise, since I use the ship as a nice way to get from port to port. I am also pretty low maintenance and am happy just to experience something new and be on vacation. But here I go:

I live in PR, so we were able to park right at the Pan AM pier to do the embarkation process. We got there about 3pm and were signed in in about 10 minutes. Fast and painless. We then went to the Tax Free store there and stocked up and carried it out to our car. That was a nice perk! After dropping the car at long term parking, we boarded the ship at about 5pm. I heard there were about 3000 people guests on the ship (full is about 3600). They said there were about 150 kids on board, we didn't see many. We never thought the ship seemed crowded.

Our stateroom was fine- lots of closet space. We liked having the balcony (Caribe deck has the largest balconies) and spent every evening out there before dinner. We had no issues with the room at all. Our room steward was nice....in fact, I can't think of even one Princess employee we had contact with that wasn't very pleasant and helpful. We loved the Movies under the Stars and the warm cookies and the ice cream. I can't say we liked the shows (other than the comedian Carlos Oscar, whom we liked). They were a bit cheesy for us. We didn't use the pools, spa or casinos.
