25th cruise overall, 5th on Celebrity. A well maintained ship due to the excellent housekeeping & maintenance staff. Bring a magnifying glass so you can find the rust & worn carpet.
Fast embarkation with a welcome aboard champange and our Conceirge Class cabin was available by 1:20 pm, spotlessly cleaned with no odors, mold or bedbugs.
Conceirge Class provided us with an abundance of perks that showed a bit of style in Celebrity's understanding of pampering. Upgraded linens, daily fresh flowers and canapes, 2 hair dryers and a remarkable room service menu.
The understated elegance that Celebrity provided was a welcome change from the other mass market lines in that there was not the constant blaring of music constantly, no bingo games at every event and needless disembarkation meetings.
2 areas of concern that were shared by my fellow passengers.
There has been a noticeable decline in the quality of the food served in the main dining room along with some rather mediocre offerings for the evening entertainment. Maybe the current recession found it necessary for these 'cut backs' and hopefully Celebrity will soon turn these areas around.
I feel very strongly that praise is given to the entire staff of the Summit because at no time during the week were we not treated courteously beyond our reasonable expectations.
Ports: St. Thomas. Been there done that so we took a ship excursion to St. John. Overpriced but enjoyable.
St. Martin. Used Bernards Tours and had a wonderful day. Definitely recommend this operator.
St. Lucia. Nothing remarkable.
Antigua is rained all day.
Barbados. Spent the day on a beautiful beach at Cockspur Beach Club.
