This cruise completes our 17th cruise in the past 7 years. I'm a 39 year old Human Resource Manager and I traveled with my partner who is a 38 year old Project Manager, both from Florida. We traveled with 4 lady friends from Wisconsin in their 50 and 60's.
Embarkation day was pretty easy. We arrived around noon and there were a lot of people in line, however, the staff moved everyone through pretty quickly. At 12:30 we were on the ship. The rooms weren't ready until 2pm, which is pretty normal so we sat in the Aloha area, mid-ship and waited until 2pm. The one thing I would like to point out is the fact there aren't a lot of common areas to sit around in on this ship. Since NCL has so many specialty restaurants on board, they take up the normal common space most cruise ships have.
Upon arrival to our stateroom 9526 our initial thoughts were wow, this room is pretty nice. The bathroom was one of the BEST floor plans of any ship we've been on. The shower was one of the biggest and the toilet area had a separate door to close off from the rest of the bathroom. NCL did a great job planning the bathroom space. The rest of the room was small but had adequate space. We noticed dust on everything and also noticed the build up of dirt in the carpet corners. Yes, we are being picky but we want a clean room. Seriously, the room needed a good scrub down. Most cruise lines have a direct number you can call to reach your housekeeper. With NCL Jade, you have to call reception and they will contact them for you. Well, we ended up cleaning the place ourselves because housekeepers were nowhere to be found the first day.
Great bathroom, smaller room but adequate, not very clean.
