Ship Facts: Costa Pacifica Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Costa Pacifica Deck Plans
Bobbing about on the Pacifica
Chaos reigned at the embarkation point ( which we expected ) we did not wait for too long to board as we had joined Costa club beforehand and got through a bit quicker than some other poor souls who had to wait upwards of 3 hours ! Got into our cabin and it was lovely..clean cool and spacious with a balcony and the bathroom was fine too..shower curtain but it did not stick to us and the shower was very powerful.

Set off into gale force winds that night ( sailed very late due to a technical fault ) The Pacifica is not built to ride steady on any kind of rough sea and we had a terrible night sailing to Savona through 158km winds ! Was afraid the ship would tip over at some points. She sails fine with winds of up to about 40km hour and smooth sea at 20 knots but anything over that and she struggles ! just be warned if you like smooth sailing this is not the right ship..she dudders and shudders an awful lot.

Ship itself is pretty and immaculately clean.

Staff in restaurants and bars are amazing..can't do enough for you. Officers are snotty and stuck up and the pursers are not very helpful at all..quite curt with a lot of passengers we noticed.

Yes Italians are noisy and this ship was crammed with them..they don't mind yelling at each other at 2am outside your cabin and banging, banging their their doors and they do push in line everywhere..it gets a bit tiresome after a few days.

Food is okay but not special...lunch buffet has very good variety usually and the food seems to improve towards the end of the cruise when you will see things like shrimp and steak on the menu.

Drinks are not too bad if you are from UK the prices seem to be in line with the UK prices.

Noise levels on this cruise were very high...music is everywhere BUT it is the same old stuff EVERY day. The entertainment really is abysmal...on one night they showed a film of Riverdance at 10.45pm and that was the show for the night ! We only saw two shows that were any good and it is a shame as the theatre itself is stunning. Costa need to up their game in the entertainment area it was one of the major reasons we would not re-book with them. After 2 sea days we were bored out of our minds and glad to get off.

Disembarking was relatively smooth apart from losing one of our cases that turned up about an hour later. Lucky we did not need to catch our flight too early.

People DID dress up for Gala evenings ( we had 3 )

We had a couple of massages and they were good and the Spa area is beautiful but the prices are quite ridiculously high.

Would we go again..no, as we think there are other cruise lines better suited to our wants
