We have cruised four times with NCL in Norway, South America, Western & Eastern Caribbean. We really like the Freestyle approach and cannot even imagine having a static dinner time with a fixed set of other cruiser to dine with. NCL has extensive entertainment options (music, shows, comedy, etc). My wife and I mainly cruise to see interesting ports and take fun excursions so the Eastern Caribbean cruise certainly fit the bill. We rode horses, snorkeled at three of the four ports and toured the cities of St Thomas, Samana, and Tortola. The snorkeling was particularly amazing - especially at Virgin Gorda in Tortola - and we'll likely go back to the Eastern Caribbean for other snorkeling venues or other excursions options.

While on board, we attended Second City comedy acts, Aerialist Acts and Broadway-style shows as well as attending music venues with Latin, Rock and R&B music. We also went to the bizarre juggling act which was surprisingly fun - we almost didn't go since juggling shows can be rather lame but it was more of a comedy show with juggling thrown in. The Broadway-style shows were Okay but we noted that Jean Ann Ryan Productions will no longer be producing these shows. While these shows aren't a key item for us (again, it's all about the ports and excursions for us), we wonder if NCL Productions will be able to maintain the level of dancing quality as Jean Ann Ryan Productions when NCL Productions takes over. Others might care about these show and I'll be interested to see if there's a drop in quality reported on future cruises.

I enjoyed the food and the variety in the free and specialty restaurants. We mainly dined at the Summer Palace which had a nice selection of delicious foods. Eclectic variety of foods from various cultures - no complaints - only praise for the unique dishes presented. Le Bistro is always fun and the Garden Cafe is okay when you're in a hurry in the morning to go on an excursion or get back too late for convenient seating at the Summer Palace.

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IA

10547 was a quiet Interior cabin - near midships so limited movement.
