Do not visit on a Sunday...everything is closed. We had an 8-8 day here and I am sure you would wear the place out in 1/2 that time. 
Unfortunately, it was raining and we ended our day short. 
A jeep outing looked promising, but we declined due to rain. 


Aruba

Don't take a cab downtown as it cost us $15. When we got there, we were a 5 minute walk to the ship over a foot bridge.....haha on us. 
Better shopping here than most tourist trap places I have been. The Dutch feel is nice. 


Curacao

Did not feel unsafe as I had heard it was, but the people are more pushy. We took the $50 Princess Rum cruise. Kind of a rip off. Free rum punch. (Usually is 65% alcohol but they water it down at Princess's request, according to Sean the deck hand. 
They stopped at a nice beach. This was the best part of the cruise. 
In other words, buy a $5 bottle of rum in the port and taxi to the nearest beach and drink it. 


Grenada

By far the nicest island on our trip. We rented a van (cab) and the driver took us for a 6 hour trip to the waterfall, gorge, vents and Mero beach. This island reminds me of what Oahu would have been 50 years (or more) ago. Breathtaking scenery. 
The people were genuine and super-friendly. If they had a hotel, I would consider a week here. 
Most all beaches are black powdered sand as the island is volcanic. 


Dominica

Avoid this "Obstructed View Cabin" as you literally cannot see the ocean.

We would have been better off getting an inside stateroom and saved the money.

Next time I will upgrade to oceanview.

• waiters getting points to push wine on you (they get more shore leave time 

with more points earned)



• LOUD movies on Jumbotron during all times of the day (we avoided this area)



• SMOKING - one of the staff mentioned that Carnival tried a non-smoking ship and it failed miserably......????????especially considering how hard they work for up to 10 months straight



• clean ship



• good food (great food reserved for Crown Grill and Sabatinis customers)



• comfortable bed



• decent ports of call



CONS:



• timeshare style 'upsell' every where you turn



• great food is restricted to "pay as you go" dining rooms Crown Grill and Sabatinis



• horrid entertainment (Billy Vader (washed-up comedian) and Tim Donovan (cruise director) duet??????
