We booked a 3 B/B cruse with HAL's Zuiderdam, from Sept 18, 2010 to Oct 24, 2010. The food and CREW were fantastic to say the least! Even after 36 days aboard the Zuiderdam we didn't want to get off in Fl Lauderdale. Yes, there needs to be some attention to some of the carpeting, sofa, chairs, tiles that need some updating. At times it looked "dated" in these areas

On Sept 18, 2010 we left on the first cruise, a 7 day cruise to Alaska, the scenery was indescribable. Tracy Arm was something I didn't know anything about but came find out that it was a Fjord named after U.S. Army Gen Tracy. The sights were amazing as we went up the Fjord, small icebergs kept floating by as we kept going until the ice stopped us. We stopped at Hudson Glacier and I find no words to describe the beauty of the Glacier and surrounding areas. We also stopped in Juneau, Skagaway and Ketchikan were great ports to visit. Coming out of Ketchikan the Captain announced that we would be going through some heavy weather in route back to Vancouver. We had 85 MPH winds and 30 Ft seas and the Guests, Crew and Vessel just kept on going, some yawing but nothing that serious. I was amazed at how well the vessel handled the heavy seas. we arrived safely in Vancouver on Sept 25, 2010

We then left Vancouver on Sept 25 for a 19 day cruise to Ft Lauderdale. Stopping San Francisco, 3 ports in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, the Panama Canal, Columbia and then to Ft Lauderdale, arriving on Oct 14, 2010. We left Ft Lauderdale on Oct 14, 2010 for a 10 day cruise stopping at Half Moon Cay, then to Aruba, Curacao, a partial transit of the Panama Canal again, then to Costa Rica. The Captain announced after we left Costa Rica that we would deviate a 135 miles and go between Cuba and Haiti because of hurricane approaching our normal course of going between Mexico and Cuba. I was amazed at how fast we were going to get back to Ft Lauderdale on time - which we did.
