Never having cruised before, and travelling with a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teenage sons), we thought this would be a good opportunity to experience a nice ship. We went with open minds and while overall it was good here are the pros and cons:

Pros

Nice ship, good food (not great), very good shows, convenient (if not expensive) parking in NYC and very convenient going out of NYC (passing Statue of Liberty) if you live within 2 hr. radius. Friendly room stewards and great cruise director and staff. Norwegian allows you to bring wine on board and pay a "corkage" fee of $15/bottle which is well worth it.

Size of cabin reminded me of NYC hotel room but not enough clothing storage. Mid ship was great location.
