I traveled to San Juan with my two girls, 12 and 15 years old, and we shared a balcony cabin. My parents met us in San Juan, and they were in a stern balcony cabin. We spent one night in San Juan prior to boarding at the Holiday Inn Express. The rooms are clean and reasonable at $130 per night with tax included.

Embarkation was the easiest I have ever experienced. We got to the port around noon and were in the ship in minutes. Well, my family was on the ship in minutes. I took a taxi back to the hotel to retrieve the shoes my daughter left in the room!

Despite being close to 10 years old, Serenade was in top shape, very clean, and well apportioned. This cruise was during Thanksgiving week, so the ship was close to full, but never appeared too crowded to me. My oldest daughter remarked about how nice all the staff members were during the entire cruise. I agree. A very well trained and professional staff.
