Ship Facts: Costa Atlantica Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Costa Atlantica Deck Plans
Excellent Experience - Don't be put off by negative reviews
The ship may be getting a bit old but it's still a stunning interior.

Spacious cabin (B2-Balcony). Bathroom had plenty of space and it was a really strong powerful shower.

Superb food - the nicest steaks ever! Don't know about previous cruises but contrary to other reviews the buffet DOES NOT only serve pizza! It serves loads of food for large portions of the day and in addition to the main buffet and the pizzeria ther is a burger bar with chips, steaks, ribs etc plus a tacos bar with fajitas, tacos and nachos. In fact the only time you can't actually get food is 1.30am to 6.30 am and then you can always order room service free of charge!

X1 drinks package is better than it sounds - can actually get drinks pretty much from 11am-5.30pm on the upper decks - you don't have to be eating or even in the buffet or restaurant - they will bring you drinks on the sun decks. Also it;s not wine by the glass - they just leave the bottle on the table which you are free to take to your cabin or to any of the bars.

Numerous bars; something for everyone and the musical entertainment in the bars is really good. We didn't actually go to any of the shows so cannot comment but we were entertained anough in the bars.

The staff cannot do enough for you and they are really friendly.

The ship is spotlessly clean inside and out! They are cleaning it all day every day.

Happy "hour" is excellent value for money. Usually 90 mins at midday then 5.30-9 all bars then 10-12 selected bars.

Dress code is quite relaxed. You can be formal on non formal nights and informal on formal nights and no one bats an eyelid.

Costa tours incredibly expensive. Can do any of the island tours they offer for about 1/3 of the price when you get onshore and arrange it yourself with a local taxi/minibus. Usually find other folks from your ship or other ships who are happy to form a group.

TV channels poor - not much in English. Movies to hire poor choice and did not reflect those being shown in the trailers.

All in all a wonderful first time cruise. My partner compared it to RC and each had their plus points but on balance he thought Costa was better.
