Pleasantly surprised & overall enjoyable.

Sail Date: November 2010
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

To start with, it is sometimes what you put into a cruise to get something out of it. We had certain expectations & goals of what we wanted on this cruise. Most of our goals were met. This was a very good value for us.

Embarkation went fairly well but once on the ship there was some confusion on validating our sea cards to get us into our rooms. Had to take time to have our cards checked at the service counter. Went to our room & our luggage arrived 10 minutes later. Unpacked & had lunch & then took a tour of the ship. A beautiful & easy to get around.

What we liked:

*We enjoyed the entertainment & shows. Great variety.

*The music & bands had variety & had fun dancing every night.

*The entertainment team got everyone involved & had fun with all the games & dance lessons.

*Dinner was nice & food was very adequate.

*Room Steward was great & always clean & neat More housekeeping though out the ship.

What we did not like:

*The SPA Gym had poor elliptical machines which for us is a must since tread mill is not for us. We only use Stationary Bike, Elliptical, & weight machines.

*Breakfast & lunch buffet could have had more variety each day.

*Too short of shore time at St. Maarten & Nassau.

Debarkation went very smooth & we were even the last to be called. No hassle. Less

Cabin review: MSC Poesia Oceanview Petrarca Deck 8064

A nice ocean view cabin with plenty of room for storage. Easy to get to elevators & always very quiet. Hardy knew if anyone else was around. Liked the openness between the bed & rest of room. 30 S.F. bigger than inside cabins.

Port and Shore Excursions

Again only had a short time ashore so took a ferry to Atlantis & walked through the Hotel, shopping area & casino at Atlantis $12 round trip with ferry leaving every half hour.

Nice port & we took a cab to Little Bay just next to Great Bay since we only had 4 1/2 hours to spend. Nice quiet beach at a time share resort. Snorkeled at left end of beach out toward the rocky area. Lots of little fish & area made up of concrete & rocky reef therefore not any coral but nice quiet place to spend the little time we had for just $22 in cab fare.

Third time to St. Thomas. Had snorkeling excursions the 1st 2 times we were there. This time we took a cab with another family to two different beaches where we snorkeled. 1st beach the locals were pushy & old dirty buildings at the beach. The 2nd beach nicer & locals were nice & left us alone. Gave us good info about the beach & were there if we wanted something. Very nice time overall for less than $40 cab fare. Once we left the port was surprised to see such poor areas & rough roads for a US Virgin Island.
