Well this review is coming almost a month late...but with all the negative reviews it has been getting, I would like to set the record straight for my husband and myself. This was our 1st cruise ever and here is our review.

Embarkation -- Living in Fort Lauderdale made our travel one step easier with no hassle from flight arrival or hotels. We got to port at 1:30 p.m. (check in was to start at 4 p.m.) and were on board by 1:50 p.m. Being first time cruisers we were not sure where we needed to go or what to do. However there was always somebody willing to help with this embarkation process. Thanks to Cruise Critic boards and its members we were not surprised when my husband's passport (he is a resident not citizen) was held at check in. And not to be returned until disembarkation.

The Ship -- I don't think any NCL Spirit passenger can argue with its impeccable cleanliness and decor (Oriental design is my personal favorite...like my home). We boarded the ship and were awestruck by its decor and glamour. Again, we are 1st time cruisers and had never seen anything quite so beautiful. We quickly found our way to our room (cabin #8509) and although an inside cabin we were prepared for its size. Our luggage arrived around 4 p.m. My husband's suitcase, which could have probably housed a small family, was filled to the brim with his clothes. Once unpacked we were surprised at how much space that room had, with drawers and closets. We LOVED, AND I MEAN LOVED, THE SHOWER. Great pressure, excellent spacing and always warm!!! Our cabin crew, Renata and (darn forgot her assistant's name) were great. Always kept our disorganized butts in check. Our room was straightened twice a day. Read more
