This was our third cruise on NCL (previously on the Jewel and Dawn). I traveled with my 19 year old son and we chose this itinerary because we wanted to sail out of New York simply because of the convenience to where we live.

EMBARKATION

It took us only 2-1/2 hours to get to the port from Rhode Island, arriving around 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. Paid, parked, and discovered many hundreds of excited people already there and in lines inside the terminal. We had an AE penthouse and I presumed there would be separate check-in lines for our category. We asked several different terminal employees; each one gave us a different answer, sent us into different lines, and ultimately we ended up back in the Disneyesque, zig-zag lines.

Cabin Review

Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SF

Cabin 8132 was an aft penthouse -- super comfy queen sized bed, lots of storage drawers and shelves plus a huge closet with dual access from both the entry hall and dressing room area. Huge bathroom with full tub and shower, large sink, shelving and toilet area with sliding door. Also had a small sofa, chair and table and four chairs plus large deck with two regular and one lounge chair and two tables. Large desk with more drawers and we loved that there were two safes in the closet -- a nice touch!
