This was my wife and I's 3rd cruise with Carnival since April 2009. I will go ahead and tell you that the Port of Jacksonville was quick and efficient, and probably the fastest we have ever gotten on the ship from arrival to embarkation. We arrived at 1145 am and were literally on the ship at 1220 pm. UNBELIEVABLE!!

The itinerary included a day in both Freeport and Nassau, along with one sea day. This was our 7 year old sons first cruise experience so we didnt want to overwhelm him. The ship itself was decent from an aesthetics viewpoint, but they had some real cleanliness issues. Maybe I was spoiled by the constant cleaning by the crew on the Carnival DREAM, but I think it truly had more to do with the fact that the crew on this ship for the most part just didn't care. Our room steward was Floyd and he was spectacular!! On the other side of the coin, our dining room servers Arnel and Augustus were incompetent and uncaring. They never took the time to learn our names(although i introduced myself, my wife and my son Matthew to both on the 1st evening) I always seemed to have to flag down someone else's waitstaff to get a refill on water or lemonade because ours were nowhere to be found. The food was not too bad. It was just average compared to prior cruises.

The entertainment was truly lacking. Sure there were your live music areas throughout the ship, and your basic nighttime shows, but the daily activities such as trivia games and interactive activities were nowhere to be found.(They were listed in the Capers, but upon reaching the activity area no crew was to be found, thus no activity) I will also say that the cruise director, "Squishy" was never out and about. He was NEVER at the deck party, nor was he anywhere on the ship it seemed. He talked quite a bit on the P.A. system but that was the extent of his involvement.
