Sail Date: Oct 2010
Cabin: Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

We took an Eastern Caribbean cruise on NCL in October-2010. We were curious about the whole "Freestyle" concept after several different cruise experiences. We had heard many opinions, and were torn between our favorite cruiselines. We sailed out of Miami, and came into the city the day before. We flew into FLL, and took SAS transport to Miami. I would recommend SAS transport to everyone. They were very professional, and only cost $15 pp. We stayed one night at the Miami Hilton. Wow, the view was unbelievable, and the staff were the same. We took a free tram to Bayside, and had a really fun night. We could see all of the cruiseships from our 14th floor room. Miami was a beautiful city.

The embarkation was probably the easiest I've ever experienced. We were in our room around 2:00. We had a mini-suite and thought that there was ample room. The first 2 nights were very noisy, there was a galley above us. Anne at the desk was helpful in relocating us. Be careful when choosing a room under deck #12.

The ports were all wonderful, we had no complaints. We love to snorkel, and did that at every stop. We went to the beach in Samana, I would recommend this if you are unsure of what to do.

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

We loved the mini-suite. But our first 2 nights were under a galley. The noise was horrible all night. Fortunately they were able to re-locate us. We were given a mini-suite that was very quiet. I called NCL before I booked because I was concerned about being under deck# 12. The room was recommended by an operator who had stayed in the room, and said that there were no noise issues. NCL solved this problem for us.
