Best Cruise Yet

Sail Date: November 2010
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

Best cruise yet out of 11 past cruises! Carnival Dream was great! Shows were good, one was best we ever saw, one was ok! Thought it would be a problem with lines, but were pleasantly surprised that even though its one of their biggest ships, lines were not an issue at any point!

Ports of Call, Cozumel was good, took the Ferry over to the mainland which was interesting and seemed busier then Cozumel. Car Rental is best cost effective way to get around the island (one road about 60 miles long circles the island) and some great beach bars along the way for hitting the beach or the water.

Belize and Cave Tubing was the highlight of the cruise. www.cave-tubing.com was half the price of the Carnival Tour, it was longer and I can't imagine the Carnival Tour guides being any funnier or better then cave-tubing.com ... We're loyal Carnival Cruisers, but if you want one of the best adventures, best prices (half of Carnivals price) sign up with these people. Speedo and Richard More were our guides and were fantastic! First Class operation from the time they meet you with you name on a sign. Free Lunch afterwards, and a free drink on the buss on the way! Bring as little as possible with you, but a camera is a must! These guys do it with a passion! Speedo and Richard were our Guides and were Great!

Roatan Honduras, we rented a car for $85.00 and toured the southern part of the island. Saw alot and had a better time then just staying in the Carnival Village! Guards with Shotguns and Auto Weapons at any place where money changed hands were a little intimidating but we didn't have any problems at all. Just stay with what the rental car recommends as to roads and places to stop.

Costa Maya, we though was just going to be a short shopping trip.... I would recommend to go outside the gate, and rent a golf cart! We got them for $30. a piece plus a 10 tip for a total of $70. for the whole time we were there (3 couples) and had a ball .. go into town .. great beach shopping area and beach and water area for snorkeling or just the beach.

The Carnival Dream Completed our best Cruise yet out of the 11 we have done! One show was the best we have ever seen, one other was just ok! Comedians were good, The Fun Guy or Dude as he calls himself didn't seem like he liked what he was doing, but he was ok! He was I guess the fixed intro on the ship for all the comedians which were all good, and had better show times. Adult comedy was at 9:45 instead of the normal midnight shows!

Great Ship! Crew were great too! No issues! Food is always good! I can never understand anyone complaining about the food on a cruise! If you don't like it they'll give you a dozen of everything else on the menu until you find something you like, so whats to ever complain about, unless your just a complainer and in that case ..STAY HOME! ! ! ! ! and leave more room for us! Life is Good! Less

Cabin review: Carnival Dream Interior Main 2237

2237 on the dream! Can hear the late night show music from the Encore Theater. But wasn't much of a problem as we were up late most night anyway.

Port and Shore Excursions

www.cave-tubing.com is the tour to take! As I said in my initial review, we're loyal Carnival Cruisers, but this private tour is the one to take! Have no fear! Guides are professional and have a passion for what they do.

Speedo and Richard were great! Kept every minute active and no down time, or "are we there yet" compared to comments we heard from people who booked the Carnival Cave Tubing Tour.

Half the price is true, and more Fun! Free Drink on the Bus, and Free Lunch on the way back!

My wife had some issues doing the walk to the river and Richard was right there, carried our tubes and stayed with her every step of the way!

A experience to experience. Book with www.cave-tubing.com ....from meeting you with a sign with you name on it to dropping you off they were a first class operations all the way!

The shopping ares where the ships dock is clean and well laid out. Lots to choose from, entertainment and dolphins that can bee seen by everyone. But we ventured out of the gate, rented a golf kart and took it into town which is about 4 miles away ... new paved roads and a beach shopping area that couldn't be beat. Swimming, snorkeling, or just hanging on a beach chair or blanket is there for the fun of it. Completely safe area and an area we would go to as soon as we got off the ship when we go there again. Golf Karts,we rented two for three couples, were 30.00 each with a 10. tip for a total of 70.00 for the entire time we were there ... gas karts that go at a good speed .... had a ball with them and better then renting a cab which would have cost us more for 6 people.

Port Canaveral has their act together. Never had a problem! The ship never leave until your all aboard! Parking for the new Carnival Dream was easy and the best yet being the multi level parking garage is right there and an easy walk back to the ship or to get the car when you get back.

We left the shopping village and rented a car (Rented are in the Carnival Village from Budget)! Price of renting a car was cheaper then a cab or a cab tour. Stay with the main roads and southern part of the island. Guys with auto weapons anywhere money was exchanged (gas stations) etc were a little intimidating but we had no problems ..... had a good time and it was eye opening to see Honduras as it really is. Quite a few people did rent cars and ventured out.
