Embarkation was very smooth and efficient although when we asked the representative where our drink package selection appeared on our sea pass card, she didn't know. She suggested we see Guest Relations on the ship. This seemed like a question she should have been able to answer. We met up with friends we were cruising with and they had asked the same question of the person who checked them in and were told the same thing. Our friend persisted and the supervisor was able to show him the code on the card so no need to see Guest Relations, at least not at this point.

On to the ship and it is lovely. It is classic and elegant. We made our way to the Sunset Bar for the first cocktail (of many) to toast our vacation. We usually opt for one of the "sail away concoctions" but when the server told us we could only get it in the signature glass, at an additional fee and it wasn't included in the drink packages, we chose something else. I'm pretty sure he was incorrect but it wasn't worth making an issue of it. We enjoyed the views of Miami for a while and then decided to tour the ship a little. Being a smaller ship, it is quite easy to get your bearings. While checking out the different areas, my husband went into one of the clubs and picked up a drink menu. He was a little surprised to find the wine I drink was now $8.50 a glass so not included on the Classic Drink Package that we purchased prior to the cruise. When we purchased the packages he checked the details to make sure it was included and confirmed with the Captain's Club rep. I guess this is what "prices subject to change without notice" means. About this time they announced the rooms were ready so we headed up to check it out. When we got there, our room keys didn't work. So downstairs to Guest Relations for new keys and to figure out the drink package issue. A young man quickly resolved the key issue and we asked about changing the drink package. After some phone calls he advised we could upgrade the package and they would charge us the difference. Great, that's what we wanted. We needed to see the gentleman 5 steps away who was selling the packages. Ok, easy enough. We go over, explain the situation and he hands me a receipt for $281.75. I ask where the credit is for the package I already purchased and he advises it will appear on my account by the end of the day. Problems solved, let's go enjoy our cruise.

We were in CC 9065. The room was very nice, although based on square footage, the smallest we've had. Regardless, there is an abundance of storage and very comfortable for a short cruise. We were steps from the elevator and stairs so a great location. Our stateroom attendant was Ariel and he was outstanding as was his assistant. Our room was always impeccably clean. We did opt for cheese and crackers in the afternoon as opposed to the canapEs. We had coffee and croissants each morning on the verandah. What a nice way to start the day.
