We are a couple, DH (43) and me (30). We do have children, but usually cruise solo.

We flew into Bush Intercontinental, not knowing beforehand that Hobby is closer to the cruise port in Galveston. No matter which airport you come into, expect to pay a LOT to get to the port. We took a RCCL bus from Bush and had a LOOONNNGGG wait to get on (over an hour from the time we got our bags). Then it was a long ride to the port. Houston was sunny and beautiful when we left, but Galveston was socked in the fog. When we arrived at the port, there was a lot of confusion, as the Voyager had not even arrived yet. All 3000 passengers for the Easter cruise were in the terminal, outside the terminal, wandering the streets of Galveston. Finally, around 2 pm, the ship arrived and began to disembark the previous week's passengers. As you can imagine, many of them had missed flights due to the ship's late arrival back to port. We weren't really sure what to do, it was so chaotic everywhere. We decided to go ahead and get in line to get our sea pass then go out into Galveston to get something to eat, as we still had not eaten lunch. We were planning on eating lunch onboard the ship....

We got in the already horrendously long line and waited, and waited, and waited. Right before we were supposed to go through the metal detectors, the computers went down. They stopped checking people in for HOURS. There was no explanation given. We actually sat on the nasty terminal floor because I just couldn't stand up anymore! We ended up not getting onboard until 6 pm! Many others didn't get onboard until 10 pm or later. We also never got to eat lunch! ***Always take something to eat with you in your carry on luggage. I thought I was going to pass out from hunger! They did adjust dinner time for the lateness of our boarding. We did not sail away until around midnight due to the fog. (We all received a $20 OBC for our "trouble")
