Back from our cruise and I promised myself that I would write a short review with just the basics(it started out being short anyway) Pride of America - Oct. 2010 - Room BE8206 - AFT
First note is that we did not rent a car during our trip - I found out that the driver misses out on so much - and that driver usually ends up being me so this time we decided that we would let someone else do the driving - plus since we've never been to Hawaii they can also tell us the history and other information that we otherwise might not have known.
3 sisters (late 50's / early 60's) - Flew in to Honolulu on a Thursday to allow for the time change to set in. Air from Cleve / Honolulu (Stop-over in San Francisco on the way there / Los Angeles on the way home) Booked airfare United in March for $596/round trip after a lot of research checking the rates online. Flying in from Cleve - California is the best stopover as it cuts the flight time in 5 hour segments with a break in between. We had not made any arrangements to the hotel from the airport - but after we picked up our luggage we walked over by the door and there are phones and a posting of shuttles you can call. We dialed #22 and talked to the woman and she came within 15 minutes to take us to the Marriott (cost to each of us was $6.95/ea plus tip plus we only had one stop to drop off another couple before they dropped us at the Marriott). I've read that if you book Roberts or NCL and you are going to the Marriott it can be quite a long trip with all the stops since Marriott is at the further end of the beach
BE8206 - Appears small when you walk in for 3 people but found that it was plenty big enough. Room has plenty of storage space for all our stuff. Very quiet location at AFT of ship - little noise in the room or outside on the balcony. We loved the room.
