We booked our cruise with Princess after reading and researching all we could about the different ports and cruise lines. This was our first cruise, and Princess did not disappoint us! The Star Princess is beautiful, and after a few days, we really knew our way around pretty well. The Lotus Spa membership was a treat that we are so glad we gave to ourselves. After a hectic day of excursions,

it was sheer heaven to retreat to the lovely and calming atmosphere of the Spa.

We went to the Horizon Court quite a bit, and also ate a lot of our dinners at the Capri Dining room. Food was very good, only one complaint, my hubby thought the coffee at Horizon Court was awful. He enjoyed the International Cafe coffee much more, and didn't mind paying extra for it. The entertainment on board was top notch....several different productions throughout the cruise. The piano singer,Sammy Goldstein, had a funny, enjoyable show every evening. Our cabin was an upgrade and while my Hubby wasn't thrilled with hearing the deck chairs being moved around early in the morning, I was happy with our location. We had an oceanview, and all we did to get to the Terrace Pool was go right out our cabin door and up one set of steps. The Horizon Court was just as convenient, being just beyond the pool area. Our excursions were one adventure after another..the worst happening in Cairo. Our driver, from Ramses Tours, took a short cut and ended up in a very nasty part of town. After several near-misses in the very narrow streets, we finally make our way down to get on our Nile cruise. The only Princess excursion we booked was in Istanbul, and it included lunch with a Bosporous cruise. Even the carpet demo was pretty interesting, and done quite well. Unfortunately, we lost our guide and group when we arrived at the Topkapi Palace. There was a backup at the ticket scanner, and by the time we entered the grounds, our group and guide were out of sight and earshot. The other excursions we booked were with private tour companies. Some were okay, others were outstanding! We had two extra days in Rome, and we were treated to a private tour of all the ancient sites by an archaeologist named Daniella, from

Cabin Review

Cabin A746. Nice closet space. Terrace Pool right outside, and Horizon Court just beyond pool area. Some noise coming from deck chairs being moved in the morning.
