For some unknown reason, this was my initial cruise with Princess, and the first ever for Silla, my companion. Rather than a day-by-day narrative, I'll just break things down into major categories:

Embarkation: We flew Southwest Airlines from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale for less than it would have cost to drive and park. Our flight left at 9:30, and we were in line at the terminal by 11:00. The cab was $12 + tip. We were in the midst of this serpentine configuration of humanity, and figured that it would take an eternity to board. The doors swung open precisely at 11:30, and to my surprise, we were aboard by noon. There are two check-in stations for each deck, plus a Platinum desk for those who booked mini-suites and above. One line at each was dedicated to Express boarding, ostensibly to accommodate those who registered on line. In reality, however, it took everyone just about the same amount of time to check in. We were out and about by 12:30. Our luggage was delivered in a very timely manner, and was placed in our room. We had some rough seas on the way out (12 ft. swells), but the ship performed well. We did feel the rocking, but it was much worse for less well-equipped ships. We spoke with some folks aboard the Century - easily half the passengers were sick. From San Juan on, the weather was absolutely ideal.

Accommodations: We booked an inside stateroom as usual, and found it to be more than adequate. There was plenty of shelf, drawer and hanging space. The refrigerator was built in to the vanity, making for even more room. In summary, a very comfortable cabin.
