May I first say we had a marvelous trip on the Grand. Every crew member we encountered were friendly. We had a great Cabin Steward, Cipriano. We took anytime dining, 5:30pm, in the DaVinci Dining. We ejoyed our waiters, Nick and Mario so much we reserved our table, 150, for the entire trip. Our cabin was very clean with good bedding. At times the a/c left a little bit to be desired. Previous reviews said there was musty smell in certain areas of the ship. This is true as we noticed it on deck 9 by the aft elevators. Speaking of elevators, these were a real adventure. The problem as we saw it were the middle and aft elevators. You would get in, press the button and nothing would happen. Going from deck 9 to 14 one morning it stopped on deck 12. It would not go up or down nor would the doord open. We used the phone in the elevator to call for help. They were there in less than a minute. Our favorite one was a small middle elevator. On this little sweetheart you get in on deck 9, press the button for 6 and she would stop on 7 and start back up. So you can see she badly needs drydock. She will be in mid April to May 11 2011. Princess is putting 50 million dollars plus in her renovation. The Atrium will be gutted and replaced a Grand Piazza Atriun. The Princess Theater looks old. Every matress will be replaced. She should be Grand Class when she comes out

Food, which is a subjective matter, to us was good. We did not like everything on the menu in the Dining Room or Horizon Court but we could always pick something out. And yes we heard the classic comment in Horizon Court, "They always serve the same things for Breakfast".

We will not review ports. We have cruised 32 times now so don't tour much. We did tour St Vincent the day after Hurricane Tomas hit it. We did not see much damage to the structures but a lot of trees and wires were down. Grand Princess delivered food and blankets to the island Leaving Curacao the Captain had to sail 120 miles South of his intended course and try to come in behind Tomas. Upon leaving Grenada the Captain announced Tomas. instead of going North has hooked back and was coming at us. The ports of Santo Domingo and Grand Turk were cancelled and San Juan would be substitued.
