Caribbean Princess 7-day cruise, 10/31-11/07/2010
Ports: St Thomas, Tortola, Antigua, St Kitts (weather related alternate from St Lucia), Barbados
Ship was well appointed and well maintained, both cabins and public areas. Passengers were significantly older than on Carnival.
Embarkation started at 2, so they said to show up at 3 for faster embark. Showed up at 3:15 and stood in line in hot sun for 60 minutes, then it started to move faster. Was onboard at 4:45 (90 min total to embark).
Entertainment: offerings, especially production shows, were better than on Carnival. Movies Under the Stars is great fun, but sound was not great (could not understand all the dialogue) and rain soaked the chair cushions and lessened the experience.
Food: Main dining food was fine, as expected. Mini-lobster tail one night, paired with prawns (better than the lobster). Buffet food was much better than expected.
Cabin steward was excellent. Dining room staffers were good, but seemed to be less enthusiastic (maybe that is a good thing) than on previous cruises.
