PORT CANAVERAL---Great port. Best port we have ever sailed out of because of easy in and out and super fast. Stayed at the Radisson Resort at the Port the night before the cruise. We had a group of fourteen and dropped everyone off at the port leaving our car in the long term free parking at the Radisson. Then took a taxi back to the port. We had received the early boarding call from Carnival about 4 days before the cruise to be there by 10:30AM. We arrived at the port by 10:00 and were on the ship by 11:00.
FOOD: We had anytime dining and found 6:30PM to be the best with no wait to eat. Hint: The first night we ate in the dining room we spoke to people and found out who the fastest server was and requested the same server everynight with no problem. The food in the dining room was very good. The food at the buffet was very good. The Pasta Bar is located in the rear of the ship upstairs and is fantastic. The Pasta Bar is only open for lunch. The sandwich Deli is located at the rear of the ship and is fantastic. The deli is open until 11:00PM. The Burrito Bar is located mid ship and is fantastic. The Burrito Bar is open only for lunch. The Shushi Bar is open from 5 to 8 and is great. The Mongolian food is great. The Bar B Q on Deck 5 mid ship is open only for lunch but is fantastic. The grill that serves Hamburgers and Hotdogs is located mid ship and is great. The Tandoori is located at the rear of the ship but did not care for it. Chef Steakhouse. Paid the 30 dollars and was well worth it. Steaks and Chilean Sea Bass were fantastic. Cheese Cake for dessert was the best I have ever eaten. .
SHOWS: Dancin in the Streets is the best show we have ever seen on a ship. Get there 30 to 45 minutes early for a good seat. The Comedy shows are located at the rear of the ship and were always full. Some were funny and some not so funny.
Cloud 9 Spa: Had inside Spa Cabin on 11th forward deck. The spa package that came with the spa cabin booking was fantastic. The Thermal Suites, Thalassotherapy Pool were great. The gym was not very big but it was only crowded one day. Water Slides: These were fantastic. I'm fifty one and felt like a kid again going down these slides. The wife even liked them.
Now for the bad news: The ship evidently is not designed for rough seas. I know the Cruise Line cannot be responsible for the weather but the ship shakes and makes banging noise's when the waves hit the side of the ship. The first two days the seas were 5 to 7 ft and our group was not able to sleep very well. We spoke to other passengers who had rear cabins and they never heard or felt the ship shake or make the banging noises. It appears that the ship design flaw only effects the forward cabins. I'm not kidding the ship shook everytime a wave would hit the side of the ship. The ceiling fixtures in the hall ways shook, the walls in the cabins shook and the banging noises were unreal. After two days of no sleep we spoke to guest services who stated they always get complaints from passengers during rough seas. There was nothing that could be done so hopefully you do not have a forward cabin during rough seas. We will continue sailing with Carnival but will not sail on the dream again because of this design flaw. Sleep is to important and being dead tired for two days is no fun.
