We arrived New York the day before and stayed at the Comfort Inn near Laguardia. Were able to take in the city sites with some creative planning for transfers in and out of NY. Next day had a cab take us to the Brooklyn Harbor where our ship waited. Cabbie did not know how to get there. Fun and interesting trip to harbor $35 fare) There were delays getting on board due to a break-out of norovirus on the last cruise. They were disinfecting the ship before we were allowed on. But once this was taken care of we were on board in no time.
We love Princess service and the team are usually great. But on the CP we felt that they were not up to the rest of the Princess line in service. We had been on the CP it's first year and had this feeling at that time but wrote it off to being new. Now several years later we tried them again. The crew is just not as accommodating as on other ships in the line.
We were on board for relaxation most of all. But we did do some night time events. Comedian was good in the Explorer Lounge and the production shows were good too. We love Vines and spent some time most evenings here. Normally we do the Horizon Court/Caribe for casual dining but did to the Island dinning room one night. We like a table for 2 and on some ships they are so crowded together you might as well be dining with 4-6 others. But the CP has this one thing right. They actually have a section of the dining room for just tables for two (as in a restaurant). Would do that again.
Our cabin was the most forward cabin on the Baha deck on Starboard side. Very quiet only neighbor on one side. You do feel the waves up here but we like that. Crew space beyond door just past our cabin but was never an issue.
