We booked the cruise late and the price went down riht after we booked. We were disappointed that they did not fully honor the rate reduction as it was a few days later but oh well, we were still looking forward to a relaxing cruise with new ports of call and great food. When we arrived at the port, we were impressed with the look of the ship and the check-in process. We were disappointed with the size of our room for BA balcony. You could barely walk around the room. We were thankful we had a balcony-it was small but it gave us someplace to sit more comfortably.
The food, on a scale of 1-5, can only be rated a 2. The buffet was OK but the dining room menu left a lot to be desired. They always had a list of meals you can always order that had chicken, steak and salmon. The steak both times we ordered was tough. The meal choices that changed every day were poor and low quality. The desserts were tasteless and I can honestly say I lost weight on this cruise. We ended up eating in the buffet most nights because of the poor menu choices. As an example, on the lobster night, you got a small piece of lobster served with a big piece of grouper-both poorly cooked. The next night, one of the three choices for dinner in the dining room was again the poorly cooked grouper. When we saw the menu the second night, we decided to eat in the sushi restaurant ($15 per person). There were 7 tables and still service was slow and food was nothing special.
Customer service is poor compared to what one can expect on Holland America or Princess.
For a BA balcony, the room was quite small. Did love having a coffee pot in the room.
