We are a middle aged couple doing our third cruise our first trip with Norwegian Cruise Line and we came away with a positive impression of this cruise line and it's ship Dawn. We are sold on the freestyle concept offered by Norwegian as this suites our personal tastes more so than our previous trips with Princess and Carnival. There was nothing we can honestly say that was a disappointment on this 12 day repositioning cruise from NYC to points Southern Caribbean and final destination Miami.
Embarkation/Disembarkation.
Have to give NCL full marks as they were organized and all went smoothly. When we arrived at the Port Terminal in NYC it took no longer than half an hour to clear security, process documentation/check in/picture/room cards and in the balcony stateroom. Disembarkation took longer but NCL had the departures color coded by time, however there were delays at American Customs because some passengers didn't have their declaration cards documented properly. NCL emphasized to complete your forms and have proper identification readily available for inspection but some didn't seem to heed this. NCL and American Customs can't be faulted for subsequent delays.
