We took this as a quick inexpensive getaway. We have been on 36+ cruises, and weren't sure what to expect with a weekend cruise. I started to read reviews that it was a booze cruise and they were rowdy people. We were really concerned about it and even considered backing out. We didn't experience any of this.
The people were younger than usual cruises but the atmosphere was no different than a 7 nite or longer cruise.
The food was average cruise food in the dining room and at the buffet. The selections in the main dining room was the biggest negative. The dining room and buffet service was just ok. Again, from the reviews we expected Old Country Buffet slop, so we were pleased with the quality.
We enjoyed watching football and baseball in Longboards. One night we had dinner in there.
Our cabin steward was a little sub-par. The room was clean, but one night he didn't come in and clean up. and one night left only one towel.
We went to the shows on two nights, and they were among the best we have ever encountered. The comedian was a hoot, and the dancers gave a 110 percent.
Embarkation and disembarkation was the best!
Prior to getting on the ship we were prepared to never sail on NCL again, especially on a short cruise, but we will definitely consider one if the timing is right.
