My husband and I have sailed on five different Royal Caribbean ships counting this cruise. We have always flown to our ports, so when the Enchantment arrived in Baltimore, we were thrilled!! We live about two hours from Baltimore and it is an easy drive from our home in Virginia so we booked our Canada/New England cruise and waited with much anticipation to cruise. We arrived at the port around 10:30am and had absolutely the easiest check in that we have ever experienced! The terminal is beautiful, efficient and has the most friendly staff possible. They all seemed happy and we saw many smiles. In retrospect, maybe they were laughing at us, knowing what was to come!
We boarded the ship by 11:20am and were on our way to the Windjammer for our first meal. This is when the downside begins... We encountered a huge crowd of elderly folks equipped with walkers, canes, and wheelchairs and VERY determined looks on their faces. Their expressions clearly said "Out of our way kiddies, we've come to graze!" This is exactly what they did, I've never seen people load such large amounts of food on plates in any of our cruises. There was no such thing as orderly lines, as this geriatric crowd kept pulling their friends standing by into the line with them. We gave up and went down to wait for the cabins to open.
While we were waiting for our cabin, we watched the luggage being delivered to the elevator lobby, very efficient process. Shortly after 1:00pm we could begin the long walk to our cabin. We were again in the midst of quite slow walkers requiring various types of assistance. Finally got to our cabin through hallways that seemed dreary and drab. Our mood was beginning to dwindle slightly.
Smallest JS we've seen! GREAT walk in closet and full bath with tub. Balcony was large but not as large as expected, rails and steelwork in horrible shape. Would not pay this much for these aft cabins on this ship again.
