The Dream is a beautiful ship with lots of things to do but for us, we will be returning to smaller ships with less people such as the Miracle or more than likely try another cruise line. Celebrity will probably be our next cruise.

The issues that I have are that there are just not enough popular facilities for the amount of passengers. More than once we were unable to find a place to sit in the dining area of deck 10 where they serve lunch and dinner. The lines were very long compared to other cruises that we were on.

If you like sitting near the pool, forget it unless you get out early and stake your claim so to speak. There are plenty of lounge chairs but for someone like me who loves the water, just not enough room in this area. The good news is that the 2 pools are larger than the pools we are accustom to on other ships.

Next capacity issue was the comedy shows. They have PG and adult shows and if there are 2 comics, there will be 3 adult shows at night. We were able to see one of them in the middle of the cruise. After that, it was downhill fast. We showed up 15 minutes early to the 9:45 show and it was standing room only and no where else to stand. Since we were given late seating for dinner, we had no choice and could not get there any earlier. We tried to come back 30 minutes early for the 11pm show and had the same problem. We missed quite a few shows because of this. There is a midnight comedian show but since we are early risers we did not even attempt to get in. On the last night of the cruise, we went to the show 1 hour early and actually had to sit in for part of the PG show in order to keep seats for the adult show. Most people stayed there from show to show so there was very little seats available. These shows should be in the large Encore area but they are full with the regular shows.

It just seemed as though you had to get to wherever you were going very, very, extra early in order to be able to participate or get a seat.

Cabin review: Balcony

We were in the back of the ship with a rear balcony. We normally love this location on other ships however we were directly above the stage of the Burgundy Lounge and when they had a live band the noise and shaking was horrible. We are early risers so to hear someone screeching karaoke to a loud live band at midnight when you are trying to sleep is not a good thing. The balconies were not as private as others in the past due to the setup with people from above able to see down on you and a lack of vertical separators between balconies. The ones there were sloped backwards.

Port and Shore Excursions

Average port, it is what you make of it. We were not there very long because the next port was far away. This was our 3rd time to Nassau to we just got off the ship to look around for about an hour and was back on. The limited time at this port (we left early afternoon) did not make any of the expensive excursions worth it.

Dutch side, French side, all have their ups and downs. For activity I would stay on the Dutch side. The French side was great and the east coast of the French side had some beautiful coastline. None of the beaches were top notch and appeared to be very narrow. Highly recommended but you need a long day, probably 2 days at this port.

Excellent port, did some scuba diving with a local dive shop (not through Carnival) and enjoyed myself. My better half did a full day excursion around the island and since we were at port until night time, there was plenty of time to do what you wanted at this port. Thumbs up for this port IF you are there for a long time.
