Sail Date: Oct 2010
Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Tried cruising from Baltimore, just a few hours from our Virginia home. The proximity was great. Boarded the ship at 1, later than usual due to local traffic problems. Found our balcony room larger than expected - for two retired folks and our adult son. Bags were delivered promptly and we found more than adequate storage for our stuff, particularly for this short trip.

Bed and sofabed were old and worn, but clean and servicable. They were not the super-soft type you find on some lines that kill your back. The TV was very old and small. RCL really needs to upgrade the TV. Available TV was limited anyway. Balcony had two chairs and a chaise, very nice.

Ship had the expected gaudy trim everywhere that one now expects on cruise ships, but navigation aboard was difficult. Models/maps at the elevators were helpful, but very limited. You have to ask for a ship map at Guest Relations, which we eventually did. The map is pretty good and should be given to all guests in their staterooms.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Cabin 7118 was an accessible cabin and quite large. Even with the sofa-bed unfolded, there was adequate room to move around for even large folks. The room has only one chair, but there are two and a chaise on the balcony. Bath and shower were roomy. TV is old and small. Closet and drawers were more than adequate. The room is almost amidships and was quiet, but really convenient to the elevators. There is a lot of traffic in the hall, but the door is solid and you really can't hear it.
