First and foremost I must say that the staff and crew of the Pearl are first class ! Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are very polite and considerate.
The ship is fine, we are not used to extreme luxury so we did not want more than was on offer.
The ports of call were not the most interesting of places but we were also hampered by quite a lot of rain !
On board, there is quite a lot of marketing going on which does get a little trying after the first few days, we all know that we can buy pictures , jewellery etc.etc. on the ship.
In the bars and public areas the bar waiters can be a bit too attentive, if we need a refill its very easy to catch the eye of a waiter and ask, we don't need them coming up to us every 30 seconds asking if we need a refill !
Entertainment was ok but not of a high standard.
All in all, the food was fine, service was great and it was all worth it for the experience of seeing the canal in action. Would we repeat it ? Probably not.
