Overall it was very enjoyable for my wife and I. We are in our early 60s and were meeting another 3 couples for the cruise. Since we didn't book the cruise at the same time nor use the same agency as the other couples, we did not get to dine at the same table with them but the staff made sure we were seated at a table next to them which worked out extremely well. In fact, our wait staff was much more personable that theirs.

The embarkation went well for us since we spent the night at the Holiday Inn right across from the port and could see the ship come in and when it was ready to take guests for the cruise. The later arrivals had to wait much longer to board. The debarkation was another story. We were fortunate to be in the first color group to get off but it was like a zoo. I believe this part of the trip could have been done much better with a better organization of luggage to sort through. It was like trying to cram 10 lbs of sugar into a 5 lb bag. Too many people and too small of an area.

The trip itself consisted of almost a 3 day ocean cruise to Acapulco and that was much better than I expected. We didn't know what we would do being cooped up that long without going ashore. The activities that the staff planned were very extensive and varied enough for everyone. We found two other people that enjoyed playing bridge as much as we do so we passed a lot of the time doing that. The pool areas were somewhat crowded but no more that we expected and the staff in those areas were very courteous and helpful, always around when you needed them. The shore activities in Acapulco were varied enough so that you could find something to do that you liked. Like usual, we took a cruise sponsored tour and were very pleased with the tour guide as she was very informative and enjoyed what she was doing and she was proud of her city and it showed. We found a older taxi driver the previous evening and he had relatively new large size Ford and he was also very proud of his home city and knew the history and area very well. If we had it to do over, we would find him and hire him for an entire day (probably at no more expense than the tour) and get him to show us more. Hindsight, like usual, is much better.
