Don't Let These Reviews Stop You

Sail Date: October 2010
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

I am so angry with some of these reviews... We almost cancelled our vacation because of some of the crazy things people wrote on this site.

First let me say that we have cruised RCC, Disney and now NCL. This was our 5th cruise, so we are not experts...yet...

Getting onto the ship in Miami was a breeze, we parked at an off site garage and was taken to the port via a van. We were dropped off with our luggage and a porter was waiting to take our bags. We immediately went inside the port, got in line, was at the desk within 10 minutes and on the ship we went.

We were greeted right away on the ship and was advised that we could eat lunch at the Garden Cafe' or Taste Restaurant. We decided to try Taste and it was a great first impression and the food was great.

After we finished lunch, our cabins were ready and we nervously headed in that direction. To our surprise the cabin was beautiful and comfortable. We had 2 adults and 2 kids (age 7 and 12) in More our room and we were fine. At night when they lowered the 4th bed down from the ceiling it got tight...but no big deal...we were going to sleep anyway. The bathroom set up was actually very good for us. We had plenty of room behind the curtain to get dressed, shower and use the toilet. We really liked the set up. The sink will splash if you turn the water on full force. Once we told the kids to turn it on softly, it never splashed. As far as storage. We had a LOT of luggage but had plenty of room for our stuff and the luggage fit under the bed nicely.

Only complaint about the room. Not the room but the location. We were in 13070 and the kids club was directly above us, so it sounded like they were going to come thru the ceiling until about 11pm. We did complain and they sent our room a nice bottle of wine and strawberries, but the noise did not stop.

As far as the outside space, the slides were a blast and there was never much of a wait, even on sea days. The pools are small, but they are on every ship and we never attempted to get in the pools but there was plenty of space if you desired.

Entertainment was very good and they had lots of options...note: Wildfire in the Atrium was fantastic and a blast to watch...what a fiddle player that girl is...

Food...since we were so worried about the reviews, we made dinner reservations for every night. However, after our first meal in Taste, we cancelled them all except Le Bistro which we went for a special occasion and the food was amazing. We ate at Manhattan and Taste all the other nights and the food was great and so was the service. They had several options that stayed the same and new stuff every night. Unless you want to pad your bill or have something to celebrate, you do not have to pay for dinner.

Sorry for being so long...but know that this a great cruise and the ship is beautiful and the service was great. I wish we were still there and would go again in a minute....

Have fun cruising. There is no such thing as a bad cruise...and this one is awesome !!! Less
