We chose this cruise on Celebrity Century with an eye on a relaxing cruise with a few days at sea and a mature and cultured crowd. We were not disappointed.
Embarkation in Barcelona was a breeze; 15 minutes tops. Our balcony cabin was nice but was showing wear in the carpets & balcony furniture. The bath sink was not great for shaving but it looked really cool. On the plus side everything was kept very clean and Celebrity knows about comfortable beds & other little comforts like bath robes & water, juice & towels when you return after a long day ashore.
Public spaces look great on the ship and sharing with around 1800 others is a big plus in my book. We never waited in a line for anything. Ports were great but we chose to book private cars and take trains on our own. The charges for the shuttles in Venice & Dubrovnik are a bit crazy given the short distance so you do feel a bit of nickel & dime atmosphere at times. Food was probably the highlight of the cruise. Dining room was fantastic with a genius chef with fish entrees. Sea day brunch was a work of art and AquaSpa Cafe was great too. Service was outstanding in every area. Wine selection is fantastic and the martini bar is too. Casino was nice and the pool deck is fine but could use some new lounge chairs. Beware the spotty and expensive internet service & just add international service to your Iphone or Blackberry when possible.
