WOW - this was our first cruise on Celebrity Equinox. Impressed by quick check-in and friendly reception upon arrival. Greeted with champagne and a smile! Our stateroom was beyond expectations. Lots of room and most of all comfortable! Beds are the most luxurious we have slept in including hotels around the world. Staff very friendly and attentive expecially in dining rooms, restaurants and stateroom assistants. Waiters went out of their way to please us.

The ship is bright, clean and run very efficiently.

On the down side...the wine list is expensive!

Excursions run by Celebrity were top-notched and ran very smoothly, especially on days like visits to the pyramids in Cairo -1200 persons left the ship that morning for the day. Planning to get all on buses went very well.

Food is excellent in dining room but Ocean View Cafe food could be hotter.

We will cruise with Celebrity again. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Equinox Deluxe Ocean View W/ Veranda Continental Deck (6) 7201

Good location, port side therefore great views when arriving at ports. Great beds and balcony was adequate. Well furnished room and we found that we had enough closet space and drawer space as well.

Port and Shore Excursions

Alexandria was a huge disappointment. We took an overview tour of Alexandria which was disappointing and fast. Not enough time to visit one of the most famous library in the world - at best we stayed 20 minutes. The tour was concentrated in viewing all sectors of the city some of which were not that great to see.

Second day in Alexandria, we took a tour to Cairo and the Pyramids in Giza. This is worthwhile and all that we've read about. Those pyramids are a sight and so is the sphinx. Well worth the long drive.

We visited the Acropolis which took most of our day trip. Worth the trip. We visited a market in the city - mostly junk!

Haifa - we stayed on ship but in Ashdod the first day in Israel we took a day long excursion to Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Long but interesting and informative trip, wailing wall was an eye opener. Bethlehem was a disappointment because we could not go into the grotto. Excellent guide in Jerusalem not so in Bethlehem.

Took a tour to Ephesus. Well worth the trip. After the tour we walked around the port area markets. Pleasant, relatively safe and friendly.

Since the ship was docked right at the old part of the city, we just walked off the ship into town. Walk around and had lunch. In that part of Rhodes, nothing of note, but persons who took longer organized excursions were very satisfied with their visit.

Of course, Rome is a city to be explored in detail. Lucky for us we were in Rome several days before our sailing date and therefore had a lot of time to explore this magnificent city.

If on a day trip, a tour of the city is a must. Must see: Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Forum, Vatican and St. Peters.
