Saturday, October 16 - We were anxious to go. Off to breakfast, then to San Pedro (Los Angeles harbor). We visited the Mac Arthur military museum, then on to the cruise ship dock. We checked in and wait 2-3 hours for our turn to get on board, then a couple of hours for the ship's departure. We had a wonderful room, but they changed our room number and our luggage all went astray (my fault, I should have read the tickets). It was all found later in the evening. We had a nice dinner and an evening show (topped with jugglers riding on flaming pogo sticks, really).

Sunday, October 17 - We had breakfast at the buffet, next time cereal, not the omelet. We walked through all the stores but we were not tempted to buy anything yet. Salad for lunch today. We were trying not to over eat, but it is hard to do. We went to the art auction (too spendy for me) and had free champagne. Dinner was excellent and the evening show was spectacular (singers and dancers in gorgeous costumes).

Monday, October 18 - We all slept until 7:30 this morning. We were passing islands off the coast of Baja California and would be in Puerto Vallarta tomorrow morning. Sitting on our balcony is wonderful. I got a book from the ship's library and went to the horse races (they have wooden horses that they move with the throw of the dice). I won one race, then lost my winnings on the other bets (story of my life). It was really fun. For dinner I had seafood stir fry and ice cream cake. We went to the lounge and I played poker and black jack, while waiting for Karaoke night. It was fun to watch (some people are very good, and some people are not). Later they had 50's music and we watched people dance.
