The Epic more than met our expectations. Embarkation day was smooth, transfer from FLL involved a wait for the bus ( not a problem with us). Once at the terminal, we were on in 30 minutes. The family balcony cabin was well laid out, ample storage. The bathroom, sink layout has been well discussed, did not bother us. Our steward promptly addressed a clogged shower drain-no issues the rest of the week. The staff went out of their way to assist, always friendly with smiles. Officers were very visible throughout the week. Maintenance and cleaning was ongoing throughout the week. The service in the Manhattan room was attentive and fast. The music at dinner was a nice touch with some couples even dancing. We ate at three specialty restaurants with Cagney's being our favorite. However, the food and service was great in all. O'Sheehan's served very tasty lunch and breakfast. Never had an issue with getting reservations,
The ship was easy to get around with interactive screens on deck 5,6 and 7 to find, venues, music etc. Signage was also adequate to guide one around. The water slides and rock climbing were a blast. No waiting on port days. The Pool decks were constantly maintained, therefore minimizing previous complaints of slippery decks when wet. yes, pools are small, not a deal breaker. Aft adult area well laid out. No problem finding deck chairs. Nice quiet area up on deck 18.
Entertainment-no lack of that, Blue Man-outstanding, Cirque also great, but tight seating. Second City-funny as usual. The duo in the atrium was excellent with quality and music variety. The magician was a riot.
There was also a piano man, guitar player in addition to legends of Rock n Roll. At night there were several events at Spice H20. We never experienced long elevator waits except on disembarkation day, no surprise there. The shops were spread out, not cramped as typical on many cruise ships. NCL left us feeling we had a great week and will return in a heartbeat.
