Ship Facts: Carnival Pride Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Pride Deck Plans
Beautiful ship - but nothing to do but spend money!!!
Ok - I'm going to try to be brief here- this was my 9th cruise and the worst one. Ship was very nice and so was our balcony cabin. Very spacious and clean. We ate in the dining room several times and food was great. Was a little upset thought because we asked for a table for 2 but had to sit with another couple. Dining room is your best bet. The buffet (only one) food was horrible. The desserts were always good though in the buffet. There are NO midnight buffets - except one night they had crappy dried up Mexican buffet - very low standards. They do have the buffet grill open from 11:30 pm - 1 but it was always hot dogs and hamburgers along w/ fries and potato salad. They have 4 buffet stations but only once is dedicated to sandwiches and one for buffet and other 2 always closed. We had to wait in line 20 minutes one night for dinner - and it was crappy. When we sat down to eat our slop, we were watching the crew members standing aside pointing at the long line at buffet and apparently laughing at how long the line was......They had a 24 hour pizza place - that was good but how much pizza can you eat. Room service is ok and limited and always a 45 minute wait. Gross Coffee - tasted recycled, very muddy.

The shows after dinner stunk -always danced and sung - they actually lip synced on some of the songs and faked instrument playing. They were lame. They had one comedian one nite that was ok. They of course had bingo like 3 times a day and a few lame trivia games. There was not much to do at all (I am in my early 30s and love to do just about anything). They target people to spend money at bingo and at the casino. NO free drinks at casino.

We went to play at the arcade (just my boyfriend and I) and they had maybe 15 games to play. We played them all and all were broken but 1. We complained to management and they said they would check it out. They came back to us stating that they were all fine yet he did refunded us the money we spent in there. PLease - we're not dummies - they were broken.

One night in the middle of the cruise - we found a giant roach in our room - we killed it and brought it to guest services and they told us housekeeping would come to see us (it was 3:00 am in the morning). So the manager of housekeeping came up and told us they do not have roaches and someone must have brought it on our clothes from the Bahamas (whatever!!!). The next day they came in our room to do a search and found nothing.

TV in our room was an old crappy TV - it was very touchy either had to listen to it loud or softly. Also - very loud squealing and screaching sounds coming from beihind TV cabinet. Only had about 6 channels to watch (TBS, Cartoon Network, News)- 6 channels were dedicated to Carnival. They did have movies you can rent but they were $9 a piece...lol

Drinks were fairly reasonable - beers were $5.25 and soda $2. Buffet drinks were either lemonade, coffee, tea or ice tea. Hardly ever any ice in the machiens. Ice cream machine was always down - no toppings for it either.

Pools were ok and adequate. Jacuzzi tub was only luke warm. NO live bands playing anywhere - just crappy one person singing with a guitar and prerecorded background music- lots of times near pool was just radio playing.

We found ourselves walking around many many times bored. We played chess a few times, took many naps...lol

Also, we were found using dirty dishes. The first 3 nights of our cruise, we kept hearing a howling noise near our door like a haunted house, we found that we had to stuff a towel in our front door and that quieted the noise.

Port of calls were nice - we did Blue Lagoon in Bahamas and that was the best although we missed an hour of our time there because Carnival screwed up the count and we had to wait for something (they never told us why we had to wait). I wasn't too happy about that.

Workers on the ship didn't seem to care at all about our complaints - one guy said go on internet to complain. Another gave me a letter to complain to the main carnival headquarters.

To be fair - its a gorgeous ship. Dining room food was awesome! Dining staff was great. Nice touch to have robes in our room along w/ a hair dryer and toiletries. Great deals at duty free shop. Bathroom was nice - always had nice hot shower.

I will not take another carnival cruise though.
