Med Treasure Cruise - Independence of the Seas

Well here we are at the end of another very enjoyable Cruise with Royal C. We could'nt had better service from all the staff on board which is truly commendable yet again, having cruised before on the Legend of the Seas last year to the Eastern Med. From the initial check in we were in our stateroom within approx. 30mins, and then up to the Windjammer for lunch at 2.30. no waiting around was experienced, which in our view is a holiday in itself! We had booked "My Time Dining" and preferable a table for just two for every evening in the King Lear dining room, initially booking "on line" the only available dining time of between 6.30 pm and 6.45 pm each evening...this did not prove a problem though, as we requested another dining time each night for the following night to fit in with our shore trips... and these requests were met with no trouble at the dining book in desk just as you go into the restuarant. We ate here every evening and found the standard of the waiting staff really More
good as was the lovely food and wine. We purchased a "package" of wine on line before we set sail, and this proved to be a very good deal. Lunch was experienced every day in the Windjammer. I personally found this a very noisy place to dine and very packed to the hilt every day, but generally found the food very tasty, but somewhat lacking in heat, especially the soup.
Our cabin was very very clean and we tried to enjoy our ocean view often but usually this was spoilt somewhat by the two chain smokers on both sides of our balcony who certainly enjoyed their balcony at every possible moment from early morning to late at night !!! It was for us quite disgusting as we do not ever go into any public place here in the U/K with smoking far less our own personal space. May i kindly suggest ot Royal Caribbean that it might be to their advantage in the future for people like us who are now cruising every year that they at least try and please the NON SMOKERS for once, maybe by accommodating us on ONE SIDE OF THE SHIP ????
We enjoyed only some of the entertainment of IOTS as they do try to appeal to all ages and tastes, so the nightly performances in the Alhambra can be literally anything and not a showtime show like we have been wowed with on other cruises e.g. P & O Arcadia which in my opinion was the most enjoyable "west end" standard of show that has obviously spoilt me rotton !! Port and Shore Excursions
We have been to Barcelona before and found the courtesy bus into the centre a very good way of getting to the La Rambla street for a lovely walk. also there is open decked buses that can take you around the city.
Had lunch included on this trip in small restuarant. Veal stew and potatoes followed by vanilla mousse. Be careful here I found the flies were on the bread!
